Villanova, the 12th Seed in the Midwest bracket, will take on the #1 seed Kansas Jayhawks. 'Nova is 1-2 against KU. The Wildcats won the last meeting 83-62 on a snowy January saturday morning in 2005. The Jayhawks were ranked #2 at the time.
The Wildcats are 44-28 All-Time in the NCAA Tournament and 2-7 All-Time vs. #1 seeds. Villanova, along with West Virginia, Memphis, UNC and UCLA are the only programs to make the Sweet 16 in 3 of the last 4 years.
Currently #12 seeds are 0-13 in the NCAA Tournament against the #1 seed. The worst loss by #1 seed was by a #11 (when George Mason beat UConn in 2006).
