Many people think that having Villanova's Midnight Madness event a full week after practice starts is "lame" and loses authenticity. Of course the main reason, that Hoops Mania occurs a week later is due to Nova's Fall Break where minimal students are on campus. But there is another benefit- namely the lack of competition for a recruit's availability.
