About the Red Foxes
Not really much to say about this squad, except that they have nowhere to go but up. Marist finished with an unthinkable 1-29 record last year, so to say that the expectations in Poughkeepsie, NY are extremely low would be an understatement. Nonetheless, coach Chuck Martin has 12 returning players this year, led by sophomore Candon Rusin, who averaged 9.5 points a game last year, and Devin Price, another sophomore who scored at a clip of 9.1 points per game and assisted 2.6 times a contest.
What to Expect
If Villanova doesn't win by 30, it will probably be considered a disappointment. With another game looming on Wednesday, look for the Cats to establish their presence early and often, with the hope of resting some of the big guns in the second half. It would be nice to see Villanova pour it on from the outset, and have a balanced scoring attack instead of relying on one guy like they did with Corey Fisher the other night.
