The most recent report out of Philadelphia has senior Corey Stokes starting tonight against the Syracuse Orange. It was just yesterday at practice that Stokes and Jay Wright confirmed Stokes would play, but come off the bench. But today Wright is singing a different tune.
"We're going to definitely put Stokesy out there," Wright said. "We're going to start him and see what he can do. It's senior night, so I'm happy for him."
Right now, I would take this as he is starting because it is Senior Night. I don't think this means Stokes is going to play anymore than he would have before this announcement. This doesn't feel like a health-related announcement.
