According to Keith Pompey, Temple Owls QB Chester Stewart has been suspended for Thursday night's season opening game against the Villanova Wildcats for a violation of team rules. DB Kee-ayre Griffin was also suspended. No word yet on exactly what the violation of team rules was.

This is a significant development because new coach Steve Addazio had still not named a starter at QB for the game as of this morning. This news eliminates on quarterback as the job will now be a fight between sophomore Chris Coyer and junior Mike Gerardi.
Both Coyer and Gerardi will be a new commodity to Villanova fans, who only saw Stewart in last year's meeting.
