Jay Wright's squad opened practice for the 2012-13 Season on Friday.
Jay Wright's Villanova Basketball squad took to the court for the first time on Friday as the NCAA officially opened team practice.
The 2012-13 will notice the loss of Maalik Wayns and Dominic Cheek who both left the university early to pursue their professional dreams, but the squad welcomes new additions. Ryan Arcidiacono, Daniel Ochefu, and Mislav, Brzoja are entering their first year of college ball and transfer Point Guard, Tony Chennault, a local Philly native who has transferred from Wake Forest and will have immediate eligibility as a junior.
Mouphtaou Yarou, James Bell, and sophomore JayVaughn Pinkston will be the returning anchors for the team as Maurice Sutton, Tyrone Johnson, Achraf Yacoubou, and Darren Hilliard provide depth and experience in Jay Wright's system for the Wildcats.
Also practicing with 'Nova this season is Dylan Ennis. The 6'2" guard will be ineligible to play this year after transferring from Rice, but will add positive attitude to the team in the locker room and on the practice court.
The 2012-13 Villanova Basketball schedule features a strong BIG EAST conference itinerary as well as solid out of conference BCS match ups against Purdue, Vanderbilt, Alabama (or Oregon St.) and the usual Philadelphia Big 5 matchups.
