Nova Football enters the top-25

Villanova football is back in the top-25 ranked programs in the country after upsetting #3-ranked Old Dominion at the weekend.

Villanova football hadn't been ranked since the early part of the 2011 season, with a 2-win campaign knocking the Wildcats out of the top-25 last season. This season's edition of Wildcat football is now 5-2 overall and landed their first big win of the season on Saturday evening, taking down the high-powered offense of the Old Dominion Monarchs.

That performance was enough to put the 'Cats into the rankings at #24 in The Sports Network's poll of media members. They remain unranked in the coaches' poll, administered by the Southern Conference, with 25 points.

Old Dominion fell to number-7 in the TSN poll after the loss. CAA member James Madison moved up to number-2 after defeating William & Mary in a close game. New Hampshire (12), Towson (18) and Delaware (25) are also in this week's ranked teams, giving the CAA six entries in the top-25 this week.
