As already noted earlier in the day, with the defection of the Catholic-7 from the Big East, Xavier and Butler are [practically] "definitely in" on the list of additions to the new conference.

But who else? Dayton, St. Louis, and Creighton are popular options as is Gonzaga if the conference decides to go cross-country.

A new twist to the mix was mentioned today by Brendan Prunty of New Jersey's Star Ledger. He noted that the possibility of UConn and Cincinnati joining the conference for all sports except for football is a distinct possibility.
