Maalik Wayns faced high scrutiny when he declared for his early entrance into the NBA Draft. Although the Philly native went unselected in the draft, the Philadelphia 76ers announced today that they signed the free-agent Wayns.
As a junior, Wayns led 'Nova in scoring with just under 18 points per game and was named to the BIG EAST Conference 2nd Team.
"It’s going to be a great experience for me, I’m just so happy and excited that things worked out the way they did. I was confident that I was going to catch on with somebody. I knew I was going to play in the NBA. I just didn’t know where."
Wayns participated in the Orlando Pro Summer League for the Magic where he was second in assists and steals.
