Villanova wasn't included in the actual top-25 released before the 2012 season by The Sports Network, but the Wildcats were not left out of the most-respected FCS poll entirely. They garnered 30 points in the poll, which means that at least a few media members are optimistic about the season. Five CAA schools were ranked as well as future CAA member, Stony Brook.
