Pat Young strikes out 18

Villanova junior right-hand pitcher Pat Young struck out 18 over 7 innings in Friday's 8-2 win over Chicago St.

It was just one of those days where everything was working. We went right after the hitters and I was able to hammer them with a lot of fastballs, get into counts where I could use my slider and I was just able to rack up the strikeouts.

Villanova's record for single-game K's belongs to Bob Krapiewnicki, who had 23 strikeouts against Drexel on May 5, 1958.
