Nova expresses interest in 2015 Guard Justin Simon

The sophomore guard plays for Roosevelt High and was receiving interest from Villanova's staff members at the Hoop Group's elite summer camp in Reading, PA.

When 6-4 sophomore guard Justin Simon checked into The Hoop Group's summer camp in Reading, PA, he hadn't heard from Villanova, but after putting on a show in the styx of Pennsylvania, the Main Line school has taken notice. The 6-4 guard played for Roosevelt High school in California last season, but has transferred to Temecula Valley this summer.

A native of Corona, CA, Simon led his team in scoring and rebounding with 11.0 points and 3.1 rebounds per game, respectively, and was 2nd in assists last season. He is a two-guard with good enough handle and vision to potentially play point and could slide over to play small forward as well.

He is known as a good finisher who gets to the bucket for easy layups and works hard on the boards. FiveStarRecruits.com has described him as, "a big bodied two guard who is very long and does a very good job moving without the ball in his hands. Simon can affect the game on both sides of the court. Defends very well and is a lock down defender. Has a very good basketball IQ and is a very underrated passer."

He has a developing game that many think has good upside at the college level and he has received offers from a number of mid-majors already, mostly on the west coast. He has notable interest from Utah, ASU, San Diego State, Gonzaga and others. Villanova hasn't offered yet, but the Wildcats will be paying attention to Simon going forward.
