Big East Bubble Watch Part 6

Creighton: Great week for this team. Beat Butler, then embarrassed our beloved Wild Cats. Barring losing out AND McDermott getting injured, this team is a mortal lock for the NCAA Tournament.

Villanova: After 7 straight wins, they get spanked by Creighton. Should not effect the computer numbers, too much. Only game on the rest of the calendar that can really hurt RPI is Butler, at home.

Should be in:

Work to Be Done:

Xavier: Beat Butler, lost to Marquette. Other than a non-conference win against Cincy, not a whole lot to like about the resume. They still have opportunities on the schedule against Nova and Creighton, both games to be played at home.

Georgetown: Big win against Providence, then took a spanking against the Red Storm. A lot to like and a lot to hate on their resume. Non-Conference wins over MSU, VCU and KSU. But, loses against North Eastern and Seton Hall hold back the computer numbers. If selecting today, they are my favorite of all Big East Bubble teams. They are seriously flawed, but have proven they can beat anybody.

Providence; A loss to Georgetown and a win against DePaul. Their resume is pretty flimsy. Only thing that stands out is a home victory against Creighton. This team doesn't win on the road and has lost to Seton Hall. I have them NIT bound, if selecting today. Huge home game against Villanova on Tuesday for this squad.

St. John's: Computer numbers are not good, but they are starting to roll. 5 straight wins, with one coming over Creighton and two over fellow bubble watchers, Providence and G Town. No out of conference accomplishments and a loss to DePaul.

Marquette: I'm loathe to even put them on the list, as they have accomplished very little. They have a home game against Creighton coming up. If they win, they have played themselves into consideration, but would still be on the outside looking in.
