MSG Varsity's Kevin Devaney Jr. reports that New York cornerback-slash-runningback Taurus Phillips will sign with Villanova tomorrow. He was also hearing from Nebraska, Arkansas and Georgia Tech late in the process, but only the Wildcats and Albany were confirmed to offer.

Rated 2-stars by 247 Sports and unrated by Rivals or ESPN, Phillips is a 5'9" and 175-pound athlete who runs a 4.43 40-yard dash. The Beacon, N.Y. prospect had almost no interest before the season, but started hearing from Nebraska, Arkansas, UConn, Georgia Tech and Villanova by late December after averaging 13.6 yards per carry this fall.
He performed well at an all star camp after the season, and when coaches began to ask, they realized that nobody had been recruiting him at that point. He hadn't put together a tape or contacted anyone, but when coaches finally started to get a look, he exploded on the scene.
Phillips is the 14th known verbal commitment for the 2014 Villanova football recruiting class. Follow closely here at VUhoops.com tomorrow for as-they-happen updates on National Signing Day.
