The Maryland native has versatility to play on both sides of the ball, but will likely line up on the defensive line at Villanova.

Mike Williams, a 3-star defensive linemen from Severn, MD became the seventh commitment in Villanova's 2013 football recruiting class in early January 2012. Williams, who stands 6'5" and and weighs in at 280 lbs., committed to Villanova after decommitting from Maryland. Boston College, James Madison and Hampton were also involved.

Williams has upside to play on both sides of the ball, but reportedly prefers the defensive side and may have decommitted from Maryland because they wanted him on the offensive line. His size appears a good fit for Villanova's base 3-3-5 scheme.

Rated 3-stars by Rivals and 2-stars by both Scout and 247sports, Williams is the highest rated recruit that Andy Talley brought in this year, and at a position that will need filling with the graduation of Marlon Johnson and the impending departures of Rakim Cox and Antoine Lewis after next season.
