Opponent Profile: The James Madison Dukes are a member of the the Colonial Athletic Association for all sports. They moved from Division III to Division I in all sports for the 1980 season, and Division I-AA for football, eventually joining the Yankee Conference after 12 seasons. The Yankee Conference transformed into the Atlantic-10 and then the CAA Football conference in 2007. JMU has been one of the FCS's power programs in recent years, winning conference titles in 1999, 2004 and 2008, and a National Championship in 2004. For the past 14 seasons they have been coached by Mickey Matthews, who secured his 100th career win this season against Towson. He has a 103-63 record overall.

He lead the team to a National Championship in 2004 and to six playoff berths in that time. He is the winningest head coach in program history with both the most wins (103) and the best winning percentage (.620).
Most Famous Football Alum: Charles Haley, who played for JMU from 1982-1985, is a member of the College Football Hall of Fame and the only player in NFL history to win five Super Bowls. Playing for the 49ers and Cowboys over his career, he was a 5-time Pro-Bowl selection.
