In a matchup featuring 3 Villanova targets, Derrick Jones and Chris Clover took on Ben Bentil - at least that's how it looked before the game began. Bentil was a DNP, and appears to have injured his foot at the camp.
Really got to get this foot checked before its get worse— benjamin bentil (@benbentil) July 12, 2013
Jones and Clover carried on, with Clover dropping 11 points on 4-8 shooting to lead the team, while Jones struggled with just 4 points, 2 assists and 2 rebounds. Off the court, however, it was another good day for Radnor prospect.
Kansas is the latest offer for 2015 SF Derrick Jones of WE R1 (DE).— Alex Kline (@TheRecruitScoop) July 12, 2013
As one Penn State blogger put it - welp,, that was fun while it lasted! His father has come out as well and has said that it's probably going to come down to Kentucky or Syracuse, so there you have it.
Quadri Moore showed both the good and the bad in the morning, finishing with 10 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists, but his 4-10 performance from the FT left a lot of points out there. Regardless, the big man will likely collect more offers soon with a nice showing at camp.
In the afternoon, Bentil returned to action in a limited fashion, recording 4 points, 1 rebound and 1 block in 15 minutes. Moore continued to ball out with 15 points and 6 rebounds, while Clover stepped up yet again to lead his team with 14 points and 6 rebounds. Derrick Jones improved his way to the tune of 10 points on 50% shooting.
The nightcap brought the much anticipated All-Star game, with Derrick Jones, Quadri Moore and Ben Bentil all getting the nod. Despite an impressive camp, Clover was left off in favor of some bigger names who didn't exactly set the world on fire. Welcome to the world of AAU basketball.
An interesting note on Clover, it looks like he wants to get out of Philadelphia for college, even though his current offer list is comprised of mostly area-schools. A lot can change between now and his commitment for the 2015 prospect.
Stats for the all-star game were not available at the time of posting, but in Villanova's search for a big man in 2014, it looks like they couldn't go wrong with either Ben Bentil or Quadri Moore based on their performances at the Reebok Breakout.
