Team Final destroys MeanStreets, leads Division A

In their final game in the first session of the EYBL, Team Final defeated MeanStreets (IL) 74-52 to finish the weekend 3-1 and put themselves off on a strong foot as they work towards a bid to the 2014 Peach Jam. They currently sit atop Division A. [Full Standings]

Donte DiVincenzo finished with 6 points on 2-5 shooting (1-1 3P FG) with 2 rebounds, 1 assist and 2 steals to just 1 turnover. DiVincenzo finished the weekend averaging 6.2 ppg while sooting just 28% from the floor (37.5% from 3P FG)

Malachi Richardson (16 points) and Lamarr Kimble (13 points) led the way while Trey Lowe endured another tough outing from the floor, finishing 9 points (3-9 FG) but came to play on defense, recording 5 steals.

Alston impressive, Team Final beats Playaz

Villanova Wildcats target Levan Alston is in the midst of a breakout at the Nike EYBL in Sacramento, CA and the 118th-ranked player according to Rivals will likely see a bump in the next rankings for his efforts. His huge second half allowed him to lead Team Final to a come-from-behind victory over local rivals Playaz, 74-64. [Box Score]

Alston finished with 25 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists. Donte DiVincenzo recorded 6 points on 2-8 shooting (1-2 3P FG), 3 rebounds, 1 steal and just 1 turnover again. Isaiah Briscoe struggled for Playaz, but Moustapha Diagne was a monster, notching 17 points and 15 rebounds.

With last night's game being streamed live, it was the first chance I've had to watch DiVincenzo. While he did struggle with his shot, I was impressed with the control he displayed running the point for Team Final, and he had a couple of impressive no-look passes on the fast break that were either kicked in desperation by the defense, or go off his teammates because they weren't ready.

He's an impressive prospect, but I'd like to see him be a bit more efficient with his shot on the offensive end.

Team Final falls to CIA Bounce 65-63

Donte DiVincenzo found it a bit easier, but still hasn't quite found his groove. He finished with 8 points on 2-6 shooting (2-4 3P FG), with 4 rebounds and 3 steals, but Team Final fell to CIA Bounce 65-63 to fall to 1-1 in the first session of the EYBL. [Box Score]

DiVincenzo's role has been unclear this far. He's protected the ball well (just 1 turnover in each game), but with just 1 assist across the first two games, he's clearly playing second fiddle to Lamarr Kimble as the primary distributor. Levan Alston, Malachi Richardson and Trey Lowe have been doing the bulk of the scoring.

Speaking of Lowe, he had a rough outing, going 4-15 from the field, including 0-8 from beyond the arc. With so much attention on him recently, he may be forcing the issue in an effort to impress the college coaches in attendance.

Team Final will take on the New Jersey Playaz at 7:30 ET. The game will be streamed live on

DiVincenzo struggles, but Team Final wins

Several national recruiting analysts were anxious to see Villanova Wildcats verbal commitment Donte DiVincenzo after a dominant high school season against lower-level competition. In his first game on the tough Nike EYBL circuit,

DiVincenzo struggled to find his game, but Team Final was picked up by a host of other guards in their 96-95 double-overtime victory over The Travelers (KY). [Box Score]

The athletic guard finished with just 5 points on 1-7 shooting from the field. He added 4 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal to his line. Syracuse Orange commitment Malachi Richardson (22 points), Levan Alston (28 points) and Lamarr Kimble (19 points) starred in the win while possible 'Nova target Trey Lowe added 15 points and 3 rebounds.

Team Final is back in action twice on Saturday, first taking on CIA Bounce at 10:30 PST and New Jersey Playaz at 4:30 PSt. The latter game will be streamed live on
