Scottie Reynolds was named one of the pre-season candidates for the John R. Wooden All-American and Player of the Year Trophy.

The List includes 11 other players from the Big East: DeJuan Blair (Pitt), Earl Clark (L'ville), Johnny Flynn (Syracuse), Luke Harangody (ND), Dominic James (Marquette), Jerel McNeal (Marquette), AJ Price (UConn), DaJuan Summers (Gtown), Hasheem Thabeet (UConn), Terrence Williams (L'ville), Sam Young (Pitt).
