Game 10: vs. St. Joseph's (PA)

StJoes-old.jpgThe Wildcats (8-1) return back to campus on Thursday night after losing to Texas at Madison Square Garden to play St. Joesph's (4-4) at the Pavilion.

This is the 68th meeting between the two schools with 'Nova holding a 41-24 historical edge. Last year, the Hawks beat VU to end Villanova's 14-Game Big 5 Winning Streak. Jay Wright is 4-3 against St. Joe's as the head coach of the Wildcats.

St. Joe's is led by forward Ahmad Nivens who is averaging 19.1 points and 11.4 rebounds a game so far this year. Guards Darrin Govens and Tasheed Carr are averaging in double digits as well.

Tipoff is set for 8p. If you are going to the game, please consider donating an unwrapped toy. The game will be televised nationally on ESPN or ESPN2.

  • Villanova currently has a 20-Game Home Winning Streak at the Pavilion. It is currently the 8th longest Winning Streak in the country.

The Hess Corporation will be sponsoring the game as the University's first "Green Game". They will provide 'Nova with Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) to support the generation of enough renewable energy to power the game.
