There have been some undercurrents that teams under Jay Wright are slow starters in the new [calendar] year. Typically, this matches up with the start of Conference play as well. So we decided to take a look at this argument.
1. We are looking at all games- Big East and non-conference matchups.
2. We are going to group February and March together ending at the regular season. Post Season play will not be examined.
As you can see, there is an increase in Win Percentage in the second half of the season, but this is only since 2005. Interestingly enough, it has been those past 4 seasons that Jay has taken 'Nova to NCAAs.
We're not quite sure what this proves b/c we're sure there's some statistical expert who could poke many holes through this, but it is clearly evident that the recent teams under Jay Wright have gotten better as the season moves along.
What do you think?
