#4 seed Villanova heads to the Big East Semifinal to take on #1 seed Louisville in the second meeting between the two schools this season.
Lousiville, the 5th ranked team in the AP Poll defeated Providence 73-55 to advance to the game. While the 10th ranked Wildcats defeated #23 Marquette 76-75.
The Cardinals are led by Earl Clark and Terrence Williams who are both averaging around 13 points a game. Williams was named to the First Team All Big East, Clark was named to the Third Team. Freshman Samardo Samuels is scoring about 12 a game.
Louisville’s zone pressure defenses are driving opponents mad. The Cardinals have held 16 opponents to less than 40 percent shooting, including 10 Big East opponents. They rank 19th in field goal percentage defense at 39.4 percent.
