Markus Kennedy Commits to Villanova

6'9" Power Forward Selects Villanova over West Virginia

Class of 2010 Power Forward Markus Kennedy committed to Villanova according to multiple sources. He told Jay Wright over the past weekend but will announce his decision at Living Faith Academy today at 130p.

The PDN has this story on Kennedy, Ready to Live his Dream.

A source close to Kennedy noted...

What I think sold Markus, who is a great kid, is coach [Jay] Wright. The family are good people, they’re local and they want to see Markus play as much as possible. With what Villanova runs, and the way Markus moves on the court, he’s a perfect fit for what they do. He’s a great addition.

A recent ESPN Recruiting report notes...

When motivated and aggressive this big body post can change the game. He possess good hands and footwork and can also put the ball on the floor a couple dribbles and get to the rim. He must learn not to take possessions off and commit to getting in great shape if he wants to be successful at the high major level. He can score through contact on the block with power drop steps and finish drop off passes created by dribble penetration although he didn't display great lift around the rim. Kennedy is a good area rebounder on both ends and gets his share of put backs on the offensive glass. Time will tell what level he will take his game but he has great potential.

Kennedy joins Florida's James Bell in Villanova's Class of 2010 Recruiting Class.

Markus- Welcome to the Villanova Family!
