Nova In the Running for Kyrie Irving

kyrie-irvingIndystar.com reports that 6-2 172 lb. point guard prospect Kyrie Irving, from St. Patrick’s High School in NJ, is getting serious interest from Villanova, Indiana, Notre Dame, Duke, Kansas, Memphis, Pittsburgh and others. Irving plans to cut his list to a final five this fall." It’s not one particular team that's recruiting me the hardest," Irving told Irishillustrated.com, a Web site that covers Notre Dame. "Everybody has an equal chance."

ESPN ranks Irving #9 overall in the Class of 2010. Says ESPN, "Kyrie is a smooth and multi-skilled scoring point guard. He is an excellent scorer. He is great off the bounce where he can use his skilled dribble to create for himself and others. He is a very good shooter with range to 22 feet. He is a very good finisher once he gets in the paint. Kyrie is a decent defender. He has a solid build with nice length and solid athletic ability. In time he should be more than solid on the defensive end."
