A Look at Kutztown

Seeing as Big Time "exhibition" games are *cough, cough* in the public eye *cough, Syracuse, cough* We thought we'd take some time to look at Thursday's Exhibition between Villanova and Kutztown.

In previous seasons, the Wildcats have taken on the likes of Northwood, Bloomsburg, Holy Family, and West Chester. Kutztown is a different type of opponent. True, the Golden Bears are in Division II, but they are a respected squad in their division with a 16th national ranking in the D-II Pre-Season Polls.

Last year's squad won the PSAC East Championship and reached the Final of their tournament. they also made the Div II Atlantic Region Final. 10 of 12 players who were on that team, return.

Kutztown is led by Senior Stephen Dennis. The 6'6" guard is 3rd in the All-Time Ranks of Golden Bears Hoops and is on the Pre-Season All American and all-conference teams. 6'6" Forward Ryan Washington joins Dennis on the All-Conference team.

So following up on the heals of LeMoyne's win over Syracuse, 'Nova is probably being hammered by Jay Wright not to underestimate Kutztown.

Even though Kutztown features only one player over 6'6", the Exhibition will allow for the first real-game situations for Coach Wright to assess the mix of returning players and new additions on the court.

And it allows the 'Nova Faithful to get their first glimpse of the 2009-10 Wildcats.

Tip-Off for game is slated for 7p from the Wachovia Center. Tickets are widely available. No TV, Radio, or Internet coverage is known.
