Nova Downs the Domers for 10th Straight

Notre Dame Villanova BasketballIn another balanced attack, Jay Wright's #3 Villanova squad got 17 points from Scottie Reynolds and Corey Fisher as the Wildcats (19-1, 8-0) beat Notre Dame 90-72 tonight from the Wachovia Center.

The 19-1 start is the best in the history of the Villanova Program- one that goes back to the 1920-21 season.

'Nova was up only 1 at the intermission, but extended the lead gradually throughout the 2nd half.

Villanova out-rebounded the Irish 33-25 led by Antonio Pena's 10 rebounds. 'Tone also recorded 14 points to notch his 5th double-double of the year. Combined with 48.3% shooting from the floor including 10-24 (41.7%) from behind the arc, 'Nova forced 14 turnovers en route to the win.
