A Villanova signee took on a top level recruiting target last Saturday when Florida's Montverde Academy took on Findlay Prep from Nevada in the Montverde Academy Invitational Tournament.
The #2 ranked Findlay Prep basketball team dropped its second game this season Saturday, losing to host #22 ranked Montverde Academy, 54-51. Montverde led by as many as 11 points in the second quarter before Findlay rallied to make things interesting. It had two 3-point attempts to tie in the final seconds that nearly went in.
Cory Joseph led Findlay with 23 points. James Bell also scored 23 points, including five 3 pointers. Bell and teammate Clyburn proved to be the difference, producing all of Montverde Academy's offense over the final two minutes as Findlay made a furious charge. Both Cory Joseph and James Bell were named to the All-Tournament Team. CJ also was named Tournament Most Outstanding Player.
Thanks to our Montverde contact who sent us these pictures of 'Nova-bound James Bell and 'Nova Recruiting Target Cory Joseph from that game.
