Update: Saturday , February 13, 2:00 PM (Game Time) A total of 67 VUH readers posted predictions (only one, Friar Fanatic ’13, favoring Providence). Collectively the readers see 'Nova winning 91-77 (a margin of 14 points and implied total points of 168). The Vegas odds-makers also see Villanova winning (-14.5) in an even high-scoring contest, with the over/under set at 175 and implying a final score of 95-80). The scatter graph depicting the readers’ predictions is provided below. As a parting note, I have learned that there are three certainties in life -- death, taxes, and the boundless enthusiasm of bosshoghazzard. His prediction of a 'Nova win by a score of 119-60 did not quite fit within the scale of the chart.

So far this season, Villanova (21-2, 10-1) has scored an average of 85.1 points while holding their opponents to 72.1. Providence (12-12, 4-8) has scored an average of 81.8 points while holding their opponents to 79.0. The Friar's Big East wins were @ St. John's (+15), vs. Rutgers (+13), @ DePaul (+17), and vs. Connecticut (+15). Their eight Big East losses have come @ Notre Dame (-15), vs. Louisville (-22), @ Marquette (-30), vs. South Florida (-4), @Cincinnati (-4), @ Syracuse (-17), vs. Marquette (-3) and vs. Georgetown (-9).
