Bringing on the Bulls

USF.jpgA victory-seeking South Florida squad heads to The Pavilion for a match up with Villanova tonight, to take a Wildcat squad that is looking to return to its winning ways.

Sadly riding the team's first two-game losing streak in 24 months, 'Nova is looking to rebound off of those 2 consecutive losses to UConn and Pittsburgh as they host the Bulls. Luckily 'Nova finds itself in very safe quarters having won 36 consecutive games at their on-campus home.

USF Head Coach Stan Heath noted, "This is a pivotal, pivotal game, they're coming off two losses, so they're not going to be a happy bunch of guys and we just laid an egg and we're not very happy either."

Although their logo reminds some of the movie Necessary Roughness, these are not the Bulls you are familiar with.

USF has knocked off Pittsburgh and Georgetown this season, with the latter coming on the road and the squad needs some clutch wins at the end of their schedule to try to get an NCAA bid. They are led by Dominique Jones who is averaging 21.6 points a game. Newcomer Jarrid Famous is leading the team in rebounding with 8 boards a game.

They start the 6-11 Famous along with 6-10 Augustus Gilchrist, so one would expect a little bit of a larger lineup from Jay Wright's Wildcats.

Historically, the Wildcats are 3-0 against South Florida as they enter Senior Night on Wednesday.

Senior Night activities look to begin at 840p. Tipoff is set for 904p. TV coverage will be on WPHL.

The Senior Class of Russell Wooten, Reggie Redding, and Scottie Reynolds currently has the second most wins of any class in Villanova history with 96. The Class of 2009, had 104 victories.
