It has come to my attention recently that the men's basketball program at Villanova's Main Line neighbor, Harcum College, has quietly turned into one of the better junior college teams in the country since the school went co-ed in the early 2000's.
The Harcum Bears are coached by a 1997 alumnus of Villanova, Drew Kelly, and during the past three years, eight of his players have signed Division I letters of intent. Two of them have signed with Big East schools; Charles Okwandu is a junior center at Connecticut and Augustine Okosun who played at Seton Hall (Okosun has since transferred to Northwood). Other notables include JC All-American Antonio Bumpus, who recently signed a letter of intent to play at Utah State next year.
Should the Wildcats be paying more attention to players from that junior college just 4 minutes southeast of campus?
