Around The Internets - October 7th, 2010

It's been a slow week around here. The football team lost, which has seemingly taken all the air out of the move-up-to-FBS sails it seems (very stupid logic, but it feels that way). Here's a smattering of news around 'Nova Nation.
Corey Fisher has been named to the Preseason Wooden Award list, making him one of 50 players in the country on the watch list for the college basketball's highest individual honor.

Nova Notebook
Jayvaughn Pinkston talks about how his past in boxing has helped shape the player he has become today and how he's ready to contribute to the 'Cats this year.
Villanova senior Brendan Kelly has been named the Golfer of the Month by the BIG EAST conference for September.

The Nova Blog
Don't forget to get out and watch Men's Soccer take on the South Florida Bulls at PPL Park in Chester, PA this Saturday night! The game kicks off at 7 p.m. This also gives you a chance to check out the potential future home of Villanova football.

The Boston Globe
Shira Spring talks about the financial implications of FBS college football, and Villanova Athletic Director Vince Nicastro chimes in. It's not exactly a ringing endorsement of our proposed move.

Casual Hoya
Mikael Hopkins picks the Georgetown Hoyas over the Virginia Tech Hokies, Ohio St. Buckeyes, Kansas Jayhawks, Miami Hurricanes, Texas Longhorns and West Virginia Mountaineers. This ends Casual Hoya's rants of Georgetown being unable to recruit for a few weeks.
