Maalik Wayns led the way for Villanova as the sophomore scored 23 points for the Wildcats in their 95-58 win over the University of the District of Columbia on Tuesday night.
Corey Stokes added 20 for 'Nova on 6-12 shooting (3-7 3FG). Corey Fisher had 17 points, 6 assists and 3 steals.
Villanova shot 56.7% from the field and out-rebounded the Firebirds 58-23 in front of the crowd of 5,797 at the Wells Fargo Center in South Philly.
The Wildcats kick off the 2010-11 season next Friday, November 12th when they host Bucknell at The Pavillion. Tipoff is set for 8p.
