Pretty exciting night overall for just 4 games last night. The beloved Villanova Wildcats romped to a 84-47 victory over the Marist Red Foxes, and we almost had LeMoyne Part Deaux up at The Carrier Dome. I know we got it with the DePaul Blue Demons before the season started, but frankly, we all expect it out of them.
On to the games...
Orange overcome poor 1st half, beat Detroit
Scoop Jardine rescued the Syracuse Orange from what would have been a very embarrassing defeat with the best game of his career. The Orange found themselves losing by 3 at the half, but recovered to get the win over the Detroit Titans. And Fab Melo didn't foul out, denying himself a chance at the 3-game trifecta.
Louisville opens new arena with upset over Butler
The Louisville Cardinals put a BIG EAST style hurting on the Butler Bulldogs as they officially opened up The KFC Yum! Arena (too funny). Rakeem Buckles was the star with 17 points. This was never really close as the home team took it 88-73.
