It's official -- Jayvaughn Pinkston, a 6'6" forward from Bishop Loughlin High School in New York has signed his National Letter of Intent and will be playing for the Villanova Wildcats in the fall!
Pinkston, a McDonald's All-American this year, looks ready to contribute immediately. Though many believe he is undersized for the rugged BIG EAST, Pinkston is known for his bruising style and high work-rate. He should be a welcome addition to what looks to be a very strong frontcourt for the Wildcats next season.
Jay Wright was finally able to comment on the Pinkston signing today:
"JayVaughn is an incredibly talented young man who has a unique passion for the game," stated Villanova head coach Jay Wright. "He has been well-coached by Edgar Gonzalez and Kimani Young. He can play multiple positions and has been a leader at Bishop Loughlin for four years. We are thrilled to welcome JayVaughn and his mom, Kerry, into the Villanova Family."
...Pinkston was at one time set to go to Tennessee until a string of events delivered him to 'Nova...couldn't be happier...and as I said, I expect him to get immediate PT...
