Matt Szczur returning for senior year!

The one, the only, Mr. All-Everything Matt Szczur, is returning for his senior year of football at Villanova! Szczur signed a contract with the Chicago Cubs (unfortunately where baseball goes to die), and stipulations in his contract will allow him one final fall on the gridiron.

Szczur on his newly-signed contract and on returning to 'Nova in the fall:

"I am incredibly excited to have the opportunity to play professional baseball. It has always been a dream of mine to play at this level," stated Szczur. "I could not have asked for a better situation. I am thrilled to begin my professional baseball career in the Chicago Cubs organization and also be able to return to Villanova for my senior year and help my football teammates defend our national championship."

Szczur was the CAA Offensive and Special Teams Player of the year, and also won the Most Outstanding Player in the National Championship victory after amassing 270 all-purpose yards.

Needless to say, this is HUGE for the football team as they look to defend their title! Welcome back Matt!
