Due to a far-too-demanding work-life, I've yet to actually pay tribute to Scottie Reynolds since his graduation from Villanova. In case you missed it, and I'm sure you didn't even with my lack of work on here, Scottie has joined the Phoenix Suns for their Summer League team in hopes of making their full-team for the upcoming NBA season.
Over the weekend, VUHoops reported that Scottie would be out for the entire Summer League with an injured achilles tendon. This was due to the fact that a Phoenix-area paper reported Reynolds hadn't practiced all week due to the injury, and due to Reynolds' own words (via Facebook):
"Hey guys i won’t be playing in the summer league because of an injury i have, its nothing major just making sure everything is good and i am healthy."
However, Reynolds DID play tonight for the Suns, and dropped in 16 points, 3 assists, 2 rebounds, and 1 steal. Reynolds was perfect from the FT line and was 2-2 from downtown. Quite the debut!
Great news that Scottie is well-enough to play. If he continues to play like this, he will play himself on to the Suns team, whose style is perfect for his game. Learning from Steve Nash doesn't hurt either!
