Villanova University President, Fr. Peter Donohue, O.S.A., has promised to keep us up to speed on the University's decision to upgrade the Football program from its current NCAA Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) to the more prestigious Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS).
Here is his most current letter that was sent today.
As you know, I am committed to keeping you apprised of our decision-making process as we consider the Big East choice in regard to our football program.
There have been discussions with constituents from all over campus and we have also externally commissioned several specific studies to help inform the decision.
As part of our engagement surrounding this decision, you will soon be receiving an online survey from SimpsonScarborough, a research firm that is working with Villanova. The purpose of this outreach is to again share information about the factors involved in a possible move of Villanova’s football program to the Big East, and give you an opportunity to directly provide your input on these issues.
Your thoughts are very important, and I hope you will take this opportunity to share them, if you wish.
Please know that your responses will be completely confidential. The data collected with be analyzed by SimpsonScarborough and shared only in aggregate with the University.
Thank you in advance for your time and input.
Fr. Peter Donohue, O.S.A.
