Looking to the Big East Tournament

The Big East Tournament tips off from Madison Square Garden on March 8th. It's 11 days away, but it isn't too far out to start looking at seeding.

Last Summer, the conference announced that the top 4 seeds will retain a double-bye, meaning they will have a direct path to the Quarterfinals on Thursday (3/10). Seeds 5-8 get a 1-day bye to the Second Round.

Currently, Villanova is a 2-way tie for 7th with Cincinnati. However, the Wildcats are only 1-game out of the top 4 and face the most difficult conclusion to the Big East season of any school as they host #25 St. John's then head on the road to #9 Notre Dame and #5 Pitt.

As we get closer and possible scenarios play out, we'll go through the tiebreakers. But if you want to get familiar with them, have at it.

Here are the Big East Standings as of 2/25/2011
