Villanova Signee Tyrone Johnson On TV Today

For those of you looking ahead to next season, today is your chance to watch Villanova signee, Tyrone Johnson, in action in the third-annual ESPN RISE National High School Invitational. Tyrone, a 6-3 /185 PG, leads #5 ranked Montrose Christian in a semifinal game against Boys & Girls (Brooklyn, NY) at 3:30 PM televised on ESPN2.

Tyrone was one of six players highlighted in an article by ESPN’s Recruiting Reporter, Paul Biancardi, along with Austin Rivers (Duke signee), Myck Kabongo (Texas signee), Quinn Cook (Duke signee), Braxton Ogbueze (Florida signee), and Joell James (considering Miami, West Virginia and Florida). About Tyrone Biancardi writes, "he's a big, strong and physical point guard who can create his own shot or knock down shots off screens and will take on any challenge. Pay attention to how the future Villanova Wildcat can put defenders on his hip, carry them into the lane and finish. However, he is also someone you have to guard behind the line because he will stroke it with accuracy, if left alone. His physical makeup, mental toughness and talent will help Villanova next season."

Here's a hat-tip to reader mddcny for a link to a great video and article on Tyrone in yesterday's Washington Post.
