Villanova Lacrosse to face Denver in NCAA

When the NCAA unveiled it's 2011 Division 1 Lacrosse tournament bracket on Sunday night, Villanova was one of the last teams in to the field. After missing an opportunity against Georgetown a day earlier, the 'Cat's hopes of making the tournament took a serious blow. Villanova played a strong schedule and performed well out of conference, which allowed the committee chose to include the Lax 'Cats for the second straight year.
Villanova will travel to Denver to take on the University of Denver's 6-seeded team this Sunday. If they advance, they would play the winner of Johns Hopkins and Hofstra a week later and would likely have to get past 2-seed, and Ivy champion Cornell to to get to the title game.

Top-seeded Syracuse and Notre Dame were also included in the field from the Big East -- both seeded. Local rivals UDel and Penn also made the field.
