Euro Slate Now Full

Villanova confirmed that the opponent for their first two exhibition games in Paris will the the Senegalese Senior National Team. The games will take place in Paris, France on August 9 and 10 before the EuroJam 2011 tournament in the suburbs of Amsterdam on August 12-14.

FIBA rates Senegal the third-best team in Africa and the 35th-best in the world. Nova's first opponent at EuroJam will be their toughest of the trip, however — Israel is ranked 12th in Europe and 27th in the world. The other two opponents did not make the FIBA rankings because they earned 0-points in international competitions (FIBA World Championship, Olympics, Eurobasket, etc.).

The two games in France will be played at the French national sports academy, INSEP, located in suburban Paris.

The full schedule for the European trip is as follows (all times local GMT+1*):

  • August 9, 2011 at 6:00pm - vs. Senegal
  • August 10, 2011 at 5:00pm - vs. Senegal
  • August 12, 2011 at 6:00pm - vs. Israel
  • August 13, 2011 at 8:00pm - vs. Netherlands
  • August 14, 2011 at 3:00pm - vs. Georgia

*Paris and Amsterdam are both 6-hours ahead of Philadelphia.
