Villanova basketball will make 17 appearances on ESPN Networks this season as part of the Big East television package, including a February 20th showdown with Connecticut on Big Monday Presented by Bud Light. There are a few more games relegated to ESPNU than usual this season, but most games should be available to a broad national audience. The 'Cats also make one appearance on CBS when they visit Georgetown on February 25th.
Along with Syracuse, Louisville and Notre Dame, the 'Cats are tied for the most national TV appearances in the conference this season. Providence and South Florida have the fewest with just five.
The complete Villanova basketball schedule should be released by the school within the next 7-10 days, according to the Athletics Department. Normally it is released alongside the Big East TV schedule, but this season's early release combined with a few more T's to be crossed and I's to be dotted have forced Nova to delay a bit longer.
The full schedule and release from the Big East office can be found here.
For out of conference games, the following are the dates that we are currently aware of and their tentative dates:
- Monmouth (Nov 11)
- LaSalle (Nov 15)
- Delaware (Nov 19)
- 76 Classic (Nov 24, 25, 27)
- Missouri (Jimmy V Classic: Dec 6th)
- at Temple (Dec10)
- American (Dec 22)
Another note is that the St. Joes game will be played on Hawk Hill for the first time this season. The Hawks are planning to host both Villanova and Temple at Hagan Arena, rather than at the Palestra, as had been their tradition.
