Note: Corey Fisher's Stats During Big East Play

In case you haven't noticed (not sure how you would have missed this), Corey Fisher has raised his game to another level since BIG EAST play began. I was one of Fisher's biggest critics during out-of-conference play - and to be fair, I was completely right when I said he needed to step it up.

It was taking him far too many shots to get points, he was turning the ball over, he had a minor off-the-court incident, etc. He just didn't seem like the senior leader we all expected him to be.

But now, he's arrived. Fisher took home Big 5 Player of the Week honors today, and upon seeing that it all of a sudden hit me - he's been very good lately. Like, best player on the team and one of the best players in the conference good. The numbers speak for themselves:

  • 34.4 minutes per game
  • 18.5 points per game
  • 5.6 assists per game
  • 3.4 rebounds per game
  • 48% FG
  • 52% 3P FG
  • 85% FT

Those aren't just good numbers, those are GREAT numbers. He's playing at an All-BIG EAST level right now, and is now beginning to show the production and leadership that we expected from him before the season. Kudos, Corey.
