JMU's Strong Second Half Puts 'Nova Away

Despite holding a one-point edge at the intermission, the 13th ranked James Madison team used their experience in the second half to defeat a traveling Villanova squad, 34-10.

After an early 3rd quarter field goal put the Wildcats up 10-7, the Dukes rolled away with four unanswered touchdowns.

Villanova quarterback, Dustin Thomas, completed 11 of 24 passes for 127 yards including a 25-yard touchdown to Kenny Miles.

The young Wildcat squad showed signs of growth in holding JMU to 3-11 efficiency on converting 3rd & 4th down situations. However, the Dukes were able to amass 456 yards in a rush-heavy offense.

'Nova drops to 1-6 on the season, including 0-4 in the Colonial Athletic Association.

Andy Talley's football squad next hosts Old Dominion next Saturday at Villanova Stadium. Kickoff is slated for 330p.
