Amile Jefferson Update - Back From Kentucky, Signing In November?

Amile Jefferson passed on Villanova's Hoops Mania last weekend for an official visit to the Kentucky Wildcats and everybody's favorite John Calipari. Don't take this as a sign of disinterest in the Villanova Wildcats though, as Jefferson has been to campus multiple times on unofficial visits.

Plus, his father didn't exactly have a glowing review of the visit. Via Adam Zagoria:

"The visit went fine," Malcolm Musgrove, Jefferson’s father, told SNY.tv Monday night by phone. "They want him. They were a little late in recruiting him but had an opportunity to see him late in the summer."

Amile Jefferson is currently down to 7 schools: the Temple Owls, Stanford Cardinal, Ohio St. Buckeyes, N.C. State Wolfpack, Connecticut Huskies, Villanova and Kentucky.

The goal remains for Jefferson to sign in the early signing period in November, but he won't be rushed into a decision according to his father.

"We’re going to sit down and weigh our pros and cons," Musgrove said. "Figure out where he should be. If we can do that before the early signing period then we’re going to sign. If not then we’re going to sign late."

With the transfer of Isaiah Armwood and Maurice Sutton not guaranteed to return for a 5th season in 2012, 'Nova now have room for Jefferson, who would be the highest rated player in the class of 2012 to come to Villanova. Right now, I think it's a 3-way battle between Villanova, NC State and Ohio State. He'd be a major coup to finish off a class that lost Savon Goodman earlier this year.
