Jay Wright On ESPN Radio With Scott Van Pelt

Following last night's excruciating loss to the Rutgers Scarlet Knights, Jay Wright joined Scott Van Pelt on ESPN Radio to talk about last night's game, as well as this weekend's matchup against the Pittsburgh Panthers as part of ESPN College GameDay.

You can listen to the interview here.

Some highlights:

  • Jay thinks that sometimes, you just don't get the bounces, and Rutgers was on fire at the end of the game.
  • The BIG EAST is crazy this year, and only teams with great depth and willpower will survive it. Villanova has suffered some injuries (Corey Stokes & Dominic Cheek) that have hurt them.
  • He would much rather be in the BIG EAST than not, as it prepares your team unlike any other experience.
  • As a coach, the perfect chemistry is having 4-year guys that 'get' the program and having a couple of 1-and-done type of players that can learn from the seniors.

...Very odd that Van Pelt didn't ask about fouling vs. not fouling...
