Daniel Ochefu Commits To Villanova!

UPDATE: Quotes from Daniel Ochefu on his committment after The Jump.

Daniel Ochefu has committed to Jay Wright and the Villanova Wildcats. The 2012 big man from Westtown, PA was the primary target of Jay Wright and staff for the 2012 class and joins Ryan Arcidiacono and Savon Goodman to make all 3 commits from the class Pennsylvania products.

Ochefu is ranked as the 6th best center and the 16th best player overall in the class of 2012 by Rivals. This is an absolutely HUGE get for Jay Wright and staff. There have been no comments yet from Ochefu, but we'll update you as soon as he speaks about the news.

Ochefu also considered the Georgetown Hoyas, Temple Owls, and Texas Longhorns. Temple was thought to be the leader.

...Just a few weeks ago we weren't sure we even had room for right now, I'm thinking there is some 'bad' news that comes along with this and someone is going to of our guys is chasing down that information as we speak...

Regardless, this is some PHENOMENAL news just days as Villanova's season came to a crushing end.

Quotes from Ochefu courtesy of The Recruit Scoop:

“I have made my college decision,” he said. “I am going to Villanova.”

“The Nova campus is nice, they have a great coaching staff and I have enjoyed my visits there. I feel like Nova will be the best situation for me.”

More from Ochefu thanks to ZagsBlog:

“I am really excited to be committing to Villanova because I really liked Coach [Jay] Wright and his assistants,” said the 6-foot-10, 215-pound Ochefu. “I liked the fact that it’s close to my family and that my high school is only 20 minutes away so my family and friends can come see me play. I also like the recruiting classes they have coming into Villanova in the next couple of years.”
