Even though we're not completely finished with the Class of 2012, it's definitely time to at least focus SOME of our attention on the Class of 2013 - and for you recruiting buffs, this is probably long overdue. We'll start with Terrence Samuel, who is one of New York City's elite prospects.
According to ZagsBlog, 2013 prospect Terrence Samuel has interest in Villanova, and conversely, Villanova definitely has a ton of interest in the point guard from Brooklyn, NY. Standing at 6'3", a ton of praise is already being heaped on Samuel for such a young player.
"He’s one of the best players in the country in terms of size, speed and skill level," said New Heights AD Kimani Young. "He’s a 6-3 point guard who can dominate a game without scoring. He has tremendous upside. He’s already a solid Big East/ACC recruit."
Samuel has already taken unofficial visits to 'Nova, George Mason, and Rutgers, and according to him, Cincinnati and Villanova have been ever-present at his games this past season.
When the Class of 2013 arrives, Villanova will be scheduled to lose 5 players to graduation (Maurice Sutton, Mouphtaou Yarou, Isaiah Armwood, Dominic Cheek, and Maalik Wayns) unless some of those players leave early. So we should be looking at a lot of activity in this recruiting cycle.
...You'll remember the name Kimani Young because he was involved in JayVaughn Pinkston's recruitment to Villanova...
