Villanova Basketball Announces Summer European Tour

UPDATE: Here is the official press release from the school

The Villanova Wildcats men's basketball team will head across the Atlantic this summer for a European basketball tour that will take place from August 10th to August 16th. NCAA rules state that international trips can be taken once every 4 years, and this time out Jay Wright and the team will be visiting France, Luxembourg, and The Netherlands from August 7th-16th.

The week-long trip features games against the senior national teams from Israel, the Netherlands, and Georgia. Here is the tentative schedule:

August 12th vs. Israel

August 13th vs. Georgia

August 14th vs. The Netherlands

There will also be two exhibition games played in France and Luxembourg, but the games have not yet been announced. Times for all games have yet to be announced as well.

"We're very excited to have this opportunity to travel to Europe as a basketball family," stated Villanova head coach Jay Wright. "This will be our third international trip since we returned to Villanova and both of our previous trips to Italy and Canada were extremely valuable to the development of our young men on and off the court. This trip will give us a chance to grow together as a team and experience the culture of some amazing cities."
