ESPN Recruiting duo Reggie Rankin and Paul Biancardi took in the Deron Williams Skills Academy camp which took place recently and came up with a list of the top performers in several categories. They named Villanova Wildcats verbal commitment Ryan Arcidiacono as one of the top 3 scorers in the camp.
Arcidiacono is a lead guard that the defense must keep track of at all times. He is a terrific point guard with the ability to score, and was deadly at times from beyond the arc. When he plays off the ball, he can spot up on the break, in the half-court set and off screens. He does a great job of spacing on the side of dribble penetration, and is ready to shoot from a postfeed kickout. The future Wildcat can flat-out knock down open jumpers and can get on a roll very quickly. He does not hesitate to shoot, and simply makes the defense pay.
Arcidiacono was raved about for his leadership skills and floor-general capabilities at the recent NBAPA Top 100 Camp, so it's great to see him showing off another facet of his game at one of the elite guard camps in the country.
Arcidiacono is currently ranked as the 5th best point guard in the Class of 2012 by Rivals.com, and committed to Villanova in October of 2010.
